The Tim Burton-directed Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children brought in around $28.5 million in the Friday-Sunday window, beating out Deepwater Horizon‘s $20.6 million over the same period of time. Both films had around the same budget and made their debuts on Friday.
