All the Video Games Releasing in October 2016

October is a big month for releases, packed with sequels to gaming’s most popular franchises as well as launch games for Sony’s PlayStation VR. Mafia III — October 7 (Xbox One, PS4, PC)

After nearly six years, the third entry of the Mafia series is finally out. Mafia III puts you in control of Lincoln Clay, a returning Vietnam war veteran who sets out on a bloody quest for vengeance against the Italian mob.

Gears of War 4 — October 11 (Xbox One, PC)

Gears of War 4 takes place 25 years after the events of Gears of War 3; you play as JD, the son of protagonist Marcus Fenix, as he fights against a mysterious threat that has risen outside the watch of the Coalition of Ordered Governments.

Battlefield 1 — October 21 (Xbox One, PS4, PC)

Battlefield 1 takes the series’s signature multiplayer and puts it in the historical battles of World War I. The game also sports a multi-perspective single-player campaign, which will tell the stories of five different soldiers fighting across various locations during the Great War.

Titanfall 2 — October 28 (Xbox One, PS4, PC)

Titanfall 2 is looking to overcome the shortcomings of the first, providing a more robust multiplayer mode as well as the addition of a single-player campaign. Unlike its predecessor, it’s set to release across all major platforms, which includes Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
