Microsoft has already added Blue Dragon and Limbo to the Xbox One‘s backwards compatibility catalog this month. Now, it looks like even more highly requested games are coming.
Writing on Twitter, Xbox executive Phil Spencer said the backwards compatibility team recently sent him their list for games planned to come to the catalog in November. He didn’t name any titles outright, but teased that it “looks to be great [backwards compatibility] month, landing some of [the] top fan requests.”
The top five most-requested games for backwards compatibility on the Xbox Feedback site are, in order, Call of Duty: Black Ops II, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, and Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. There are no guarantees that these games will ever be added to the catalog. Also, Spencer mentioned that the list he saw pertained to titled “planned” for the program; as always, things could change.
In other news about Xbox backwards compatibility, Microsoft engineering lead Mike Ybarra said this week that Project Scorpio will “of course” support backwards compatibility.
Backwards compatibility support for Xbox 360 games came to Xbox One in November 2015 as part of the console’s New Xbox Experience update. There are now more than 250 Xbox 360 games playable on Xbox One.
