Happy weekend! Here’s a recap of all the week’s big stories and some you may have missed.

THE BIG STUFF:

Electronic Arts finally confirmed this week that Star Wars: Battlefront 2 will have a single-player campaign. The publisher also said it will feature content from multiple Star Wars eras, unlike the first game. Battlefront 2 is coming out this fall, presumably for Xbox One, PS4, and PC. [Full story]

Nintendo president Tatsumi Kimishima addressed the criticism that the Nintendo Switch launch lineup is “weak.” He said Nintendo is focusing on ensuring that it has a strong lineup of games that come out on a regular basis, so launch may not be the most important element. [Full story]

A Texas federal jury weighed in on the Oculus vs. ZeniMax case this week, finding Facebook/Oculus needing to pay $500 million over claims that it stole trade secrets to create Oculus Rift. [Full story]

THE OTHER STUFF:

As it does every year, EA Sports ran a simulation of the Super Bowl using Madden and predicted that the New England Patriots would win 27-24 in a thrilling game. The sim has been eerily accurate in the past. But we’ll know for sure after the big game this Sunday, February 5.

Yooka-Laylee has gone gold. That means initial development on the gorgeous-looking platformer is finished. The game comes out for PS4, Xbox One, PC, and maybe Nintendo Switch on April 11.

The Banner 3 is officially going to happen. The game’s Kickstarter campaign soared past its $200,000 target this week; funding currently stands at around $236,000 and there’s still a while to go.

A new faction for the Witcher card game, Gwent, has arrived. The Nilfgaard–you might remember them from The Witcher 3–has been added. Check out the video below to get the scoop on how they work.

Walmart seems to be getting more aggressive as it relates to taking on Amazon. The store this week announced free, two-day shipping on many items–and you don’t need a membership. Get the scoop on the story here at TechCrunch.

The classic movie Apocalypse Now is being made into a video game. Pretty cool, huh? Now, the developers answered a lot of questions in a Reddit AMA this week.

We have to wait until March to play Mass Effect Andromeda, but now we know more about it, specifically the teammate Liam. Get all the details here.

Have a wonderful weekend!
