A new update for Nioh has been released today, with the game itself dropping in price on PSN in the US for a very limited time.
Update 1.06 adds new content and makes some quality-of-life improvements. New sub-missions are now available, but you’ll only be able to access these if you’ve reached the final part of the game. If you’re working toward the Samurai of Legend Trophy, which requires you to complete every mission in the game, you won’t need to complete these new levels in order unlock it.
Other additions in this patch include more Titles and Smithing Texts, both of which can be unlocked in the new sub-missions.
In terms of improvements, you can now press the Options button to pause the game from inside the Status menu. However, that’s only possible when you’re playing on your own; multiplayer won’t allow you to do so.
Additionally, you can use the Left and Right buttons to skip items in the equipment screen. You’ll also find new settings allowing you to enable or disable two functions: the camera resetting when you lock-on without a target and displaying the item level in the equipment list.
The patch also makes adjustments to the amount of damage done by certain items and abilities, and a number of bug fixes have been rolled out. You can see everything that’s just changed in the patch note image gallery below.
Coinciding with the update’s release, Nioh has been discounted on the PlayStation Store for one day. From now until March 25 at 8 AM PT / 11 AM ET, it can be picked up for $40. Alternatively, you can pick up the season pass for $17 or the Deluxe Edition (which comes with the game and season pass) for $53.59. Meanwhile, there’s also a PSN flash sale taking place for the entire weekend.
