Alien: Covenant arrives in theaters in two weeks, and there’s been plenty of recent promotional activity for the sci-fi horror movie. Two new clips have now been released–the first sees stars Katherine Waterston character Daniels communicating with MUTHUR, the Covenant’s onboard AI, while the second suggests something gruesome is about to happen to a couple of the ship’s crew members. Check them out below:
These new promos follow a series of teasers that took the form of video messages left by crew members for their families back home. There was also this special prologue for the movie.
Director Ridley Scott has promised several more movies in the series over the next few years. Last month he revealed that the name of the next film will be Alien: Awakening, and it will sit chronologically between 2012’s Prometheus and Covenant.
In related news, Scott also recently stated that Alien 5, the movie that was intended to be a direct sequel to the classic Aliens, is very unlikely to happen. The film was to be directed by District 9‘s Neill Blomkamp, but Scott now states that he doesn’t think “it will ever see the light of day.”
Alien: Covenant also stars Michael Fassbender, Billy Crudup, Danny McBride, and James Franco. It hits theaters on May 19.
