If you’ve been eagerly awaiting the upcoming sequel to Bayonetta developer Platinum Games’ cult hit, Nier, you’ll have to wait a little bit longer: publisher Square Enix has announced that Nier: Automata has been delayed to early 2017.

In a press release, the company announced the change to the action RPG’s release date, although it did not state any specific reason for the delay. The game was originally slated for a 2016 release when it was officially revealed. Square Enix also released a new trailer for the game, which you can watch below.

The trailer shows off a bit of the game’s character and environment design, and it hints at some parts of the game’s story. There’s also a mech.

Nier: Automata was originally announced back at E3 2015, and over the year Square Enix has slowly revealed more about the game. Recently, in April, Square released a video showing off some of the game’s characters and a few screenshots depicting a couple in-game locations. For a better look at Platinum Games itself, you can check out our feature on the developer here.
