While this book is alternating between stories every issue, the new Wonder Woman series has been phenomenal. It’s one of the best starts in years. This week’s issue deals with Wonder Woman’s origin. The book revolves around her first meeting a man who washed ashore Themyscira, which in turn will lead to her becoming the character fans are familiar with. It’s got a lot of promise.

If you’re looking for something a bit further from the traditional superhero stuff, Black Monday Murders may be up your alley. Writer Jonathan Hickman dives into occultism and magic in this new story. Hickman is a bit of a high-concept writer, but overall, his pieces tend to be incredibly brilliant.

A new arc starts this week in Black Panther, building on the last story, which has the character’s home country of Wakanda falling apart. It’s been an incredible read thus far, seeing a country unravel right before our eyes. Chris Sprouse (Thors) joins as the guest artist this week. This book is truly redefining who Black Panther is.

Sadly, Vision is coming to a close at issue #12. The final act is here as Vision plans his revenge in this series, which has horror undertones.
