Movie production company Legendary Entertainment secured the rights to make a Pokemon movie last month, just weeks after Pokemon Go hit digital shelves and created a widespread phenomenon. The company is set to start with a movie based on Detective Pikachu, and now it may have found its writers.

Guardians of the Galaxy writer Nicole Perlman and Gravity Falls penman Alex Hirch are in negotiations to write the Detective Pikachu movie, Variety reports. Universal Pictures will distribute the movie outside of Japan, while The Pokemon Company collaborator Toho will do so inside the country.

Perlman’s other work includes 2011’s Thor and the upcoming Captain Marvel. In addition to Gravity Falls, Hirsch has written for the animated series Fish Hooks and The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack.

Detective Pikachu is a fairly new character, having first appeared in this year’s Detective Pikachu: Birth of a New Duo, which is currently only available in Japan. You can watch a trailer here or see why the detective sucks at being Pikachu here.

No actors have been cast yet, but some fans have petitioned for It’s Always in Philadelphia‘s Danny DeVito to portray the detective Pokemon.
