Sony’s PlayStation Meeting is scheduled to take place today at 12 PM PT/ 3 PM ET. Although attendance is limited to members of the press, the platform holder has announced it will be streaming the event for all to watch using the video player below. You can also follow along with our liveblog.
As of yet, Sony hasn’t detailed what it will be showing. However, based on recent leaks, the PlayStation 4 Slim is a likely candidate. Pictures, videos, and spec information for the new iteration of the PS4 have been appearing online for over a week, along with details about the new DualShock 4 controller.
It has been speculated that Sony will announce the hardware at the event and then make it available to purchase immediately.
Another possible point of discussion is the PlayStation Neo, which was first revealed prior to E3 in June. The hardware is more powerful than the current PS4 and features improved graphics and support for 4K resolution.
Despite these improvements, the Neo won’t supplant the existing PS4. According to Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO Andrew House, the Neo is “intended to sit alongside and complement the standard PS4.”
