Final Fantasy XV director Hajime Tabata has shared new details on the long-in-development role-playing game around its DLC, a potential PC version, frame rate, and even more.

On the subject of DLC, Tabata told JeuxVideo, as translated and reported by DualShockers, that Square Enix plans to start to announce the extra content this summer, adding that the developer doesn’t want to make “ordinary DLC.” The goal is for the DLC to create “enthusiasm” among fans.

As for the PC version, which won’t be available alongside the console editions in September but could come later, Tabata said he hopes the computer edition can “push the game to a new technical level,” according to DualShockers’ report. It’s his hope that the PC version of Final Fantasy would be able to achieve elements not possible on console due to the limitations of the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

All of this is to say, the PC version of Final Fantasy XV, if it does happen, is not going to be a port of the console edition. Tabata said Square Enix is taking its time to ensure it’s done the proper research and is making the right decisions about the technical abilities of a PC edition.

Concerning Final Fantasy XV’s frame rate, which some remarked was less-than-great in the new Platinum demo, Tabata said the development team is optimizing this right now

Tabata shared many more details on Final Fantasy XV, which you can read about here at DualShockers.

Final Fantasy XV launches in September 2015 for PS4 and Xbox One. As mentioned, a PC version could come later, but nothing has been decided. For more on all the announcements from the recent Uncovered event in Los Angeles, check out this roundup of stories and this collection of trailers.
